Oct 2016 Lynn Robbins- The Righteous Judge
I like this variation of a quote attributed to Goethe: “The way you see [a child] is the way you treat them, and the way you treat them is [who] they [will] become.”10 To remember a child’s true identity is a gift of foresight that divinely inspires the vision of a righteous judge.
Oct 2015 Its Never Too Early, Never Too Late, Elder Bradley D. Foster
If our children merely hear but do not understand the gospel, then the door is left open for Satan to remove these truths from their hearts.
He was president of a single adult stake at BYU–Idaho, he intreviewd Pablo which changed his life. “Pablo, who was it that helped you come to this point in your life standing so uprightly before the Lord?” His Dad
Elder foster talking to his adult kids, “Your mother and I want you to know that we were your age once. We had trials and hard times. When these things happen, we want you to come and talk to us. We’ll help you get through them. Now, we don’t want to be in your business all the time, but we want you to know that we are always in your corner. Establishing this process is to help my family not only hear but understand.

Learning
Sheri Dew
1. Asking questions and not finding the answer, "They are an invitation for you to grow spiritually."
2. These questions, "propel us to engage in a spiritual wrestle so that the Lord can lead us along."
3. As you cultivate these spiritual habits by wrestling with the Lord, there are two questions that will help open the heavens.
First, ask the Lord to teach you what it feels and sounds like for you when He is speaking to you via the Holy Ghost, and then watch how He tutors you.
And, second, if you've never asked the Lord how He feels about you, that is a great question to ask. In time, He will tell you, and as He does, you'll learn more about speaking His language.

Allie's Rules
- Surround yourself with people who build you up, not people who tear you down.
- Treat your kisses like you have a limited supply.
- Guard your heart. Seriously… your heart is precious.
- Stay vertical/no buttons and zippers (or Velcro). In other words, set your boundaries and stick to them.
- Have an accountability partner and be willing to tell HER everything.
- Be so so so so so so so SO SO SO SO careful who you date.
- If you’re wondering if you should break up with him, break up with him.
- If your girl gets broken up with, go buy her a stuffed animal, a blanket, candy, and lots and lots of ice cream. (Other gifts are acceptable.)
- Pray, PRAY, PRAY! Don’t ever forget how much you need God.
- Have a quiet time. It may seem like a hassle, but it will help you stay close to God.
- Be nice to your parents. They love you and want the best for you, so if you disagree with them, just realize that they are a lot smarter than you…sorry about it.
- If you find yourself lying to your parents/other adults in your life, backtrack and get out of that situation IMMEDIATELY. You are somewhere you do not want to be.
- Never be afraid to say no. It’s better to be a wimp than dead.
- When you fall on your face, get back up and keep moving (literally and figuratively).
- Journal so you can look back and see what God has done in your life.
- Even when you don’t want to, GO TO CHURCH!
- If it’s not classy, don’t do it.
- Don’t judge. Even when people are doing things you don’t agree with, show them love.
- Pause before you speak… this will prevent a lot of problems.
- Selfies are for faces.

President Hinckley
To the Women, Pres Hinckley (Oct 2003)
He states, "We all worry about our performance. We all wish we could do better. But unfortunately we do not realize, we do not often see the results that come of what we do.
He went to a stake conference and he left feeling, " that I had been a total failure. I felt I had not touched anyone for good. I was miserable with a sense of inadequacy."
Then, some years later, I was at another conference in California. At the conclusion of the meeting a man came up to me and said, “You were at a conference a few years ago in such-and-such a place.” You said something that started me to think. It touched me and stayed with me and stirred me. I decided to alter my course. I turned my life around. I am happier than I have ever been at any time in my life.”
I thanked him, and when I left him I said to myself, shaking my head: “You never know. You never know whether you do any good. You never know how much good you do.”
Now, my dear sisters, that is the way with you. You are doing the best you can, and that best results in good to yourself and to others. Do not nag yourself with a sense of failure. Get on your knees and ask for the blessings of the Lord; then stand on your feet and do what you are asked to do. Then leave the matter in the hands of the Lord. You will discover that you have accomplished something beyond price.
I love this b/c even an apostle on the road to being the prophet- felt like a failure and miserable. I have most definitely felt that way, I feel very validated that he has felt that way. So this shows me that when I do feel a failure, there has to be something good happening at the same time. Maybe satan knows we are doing good, so he is trying to hold us back by feeling discouraged, miserable and inadequate. So now I will recognize those negative feelings/emotions and do as Pres Hinckley says, "Get on your knees and ask for the blessings of the Lord; then stand on your feet and do what you are asked to do."
